This place is Salinas coffee gem. The iced Oaxacan mocha is the best. They also have a great selection of pastries. The customer service is always good and they make the drinks quick, unless you get the pour over coffee, but it's worth the wait. It's a cute little coffee shop and they play some nice music. I wish they would open up another in the south side because always gotta go across town to get some coffee, but it's worth it.

We stopped by this Coffee shop on the way to a PolyCon convention a few weeks back. I absolutely loved their classic Viva Mocha. I ordered the Oaxacan frappe, and honestly had low expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the strong coffee flavor and not-too-sweet sweetness of this drink. I do not usually drink much coffee, and this frappe was very caffeinated I was jittery for several hours after drinking it almost like a pre-workout haha. My grandfather ordered the Viva Mocha which was definitely much sweeter than the Oaxacan drink. I would recommend you to ask for extra cinnamon on top, just as he did with his Viva Mocha. Lastly, I am going to include that the service we received was quite nice. Since it was our first time and I'd never seen a Oaxacan coffee before, I asked a few questions about the flavors of the different coffees and one of their workers was very helpful in answering my questions. Overall I would definitely recommend taking a pit stop here! If you're looking for a pick me up coffee, I think you should try the Oaxacan one if you're looking for lots of caffeine + chocolate and strong coffee flavor.

Sometimes in the past when I've ordered spiced mochas, they taste burnt/ bitter or just have the wrong balance of flavors. This was NOT the case with the iced oaxocan mocha- it was absolutely perfect. The perfect ratio of coffee, chocolate and warm spices. The blueberry scone was also the most delicious scone I've ever had!!! Service was quick & efficient. Definitely recommend this place if you like creative & high quality coffee beverages.

The service is always quick, even if there's a long line. My family and I usually get the hot chocolate, Oaxacan mocha, and iced caramel macchiato and they're all amazing! The drinks have always come out perfect. Viva espresso is the perfect alternative coffee place in Salinas!

Stopped by here and absolutely loved their iced chai latte! It's creamy and full of spice and flavor. I ordered it with a non-dairy milk option of oat milk. Customer service was excellent. Interior was simple yet had lots of character. Plenty of parking.

BEST ORGANIC COFFEE IN TOWN!! Customer service always ON POINT!!! Absolutely love coming here. If you like sweet coffee like me lol, their classic Oaxacan mocha is a must try, or the Oaxacan Dark which is frappe style, WITH WHIP. The whip is amazing!!

It's super cute, and their coffee was really good. I believe this is the only coffee place in town that opens past 7pm. Service was decent too, however I do wish they would open later. Also it kind of stinks that their internet isn't secure. Working for a tech company I can use their internet. Also wish their seating was more comfortable.

Given the low competition in the area for locally owned coffee shops (bc people in salinas just need 10+ starbucks locations?), this place quality wise is up to par. The north side definitely could use another 1-2 spots but I'm glad to see Viva has stayed consistent and weathered the years so far. I've personally never had service issues and everyone has been friendly here! Some of the highlights: If I want something blended + coffee forward, my go to is a Classico or Oaxacan Dark with no whip If I want something blended + sweet: Oreo If I want something hot: Oaxacan Mocha is a popular here, tastes like a mix of hot chocolate and coffee with a hint of chai, kinda sweet so not for drip/black coffee lovers If I want something iced: Dulce Canela or regular Iced Vanilla latte *add a shot to any latte here if you're picky about "watered down"/too much milk Iced Mint Mojito used to be a classic here but I think they got rid of it unfortunately it's no longer on the menu In a regular oat milk fan but they use the kirkland brand here which I stray away from bc it tastes like soy imo.
